Abstrak

Pendahuluan : Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) adalah retrovirus yang menyerang sistem imun dan dapat berkembang menjadi AIDS jika tidak ditangani. Resistensi obat dan keterbatasan terapi menjadi tantangan utama. Genus Croton (Euphorbiaceae) berpotensi sebagai sumber senyawa anti-HIV, dengan spesies seperti C. megalocarpus, C. dichogamus, dan C. oligandrus yang mampu menghambat reverse transcriptase dan mereaktivasi virus laten. Metode : Review artikel ini menganalisis literatur 2020–2024. Hasil : Studi menunjukkan bahwa senyawa bioaktif dari Croton, terutama diterpenoid dan flavonoid, memiliki aktivitas anti-HIV melalui penghambatan reverse transcriptase dan reaktivasi virus laten. Kesimpulan: Genus Croton berpotensi sebagai sumber obat anti-HIV baru. Dengan meningkatnya resistensi obat, pengembangan senyawa bioaktif dari Croton dapat menjadi alternatif terapi yang menjanjikan.
